Autumn Simmer Pot

Autumn Simmer Pot

Good morning my Lunar Loves.

Last month, September 23rd, we saw the Autumn Equinox happen, and I don't know about you, but I LOVE Autumn, it's definitely my favourite season. The feel of cosy nights drawing in, slow cooked meals, warm jumpers, Autumn décor!

On this day I also chose to celebrate Mabon. The two do sort of come hand in hand if you're a practising Witch, but some people might just chose to celebrate the start of Autumn.

This Autumn Simmer Pot is great for either, or both!

Simmer pots in general are a fantastic way to fill your home with natural fragrance, and in this case, fill your home with the smell of Autumn. They're simple and inexpensive to make, and can last for hours.

Here is what I used for my Autumn Simmer Pot;

  • Apples (Cut so we can see the beautiful Pentagram in the middle). Even better if you can get cooking apples from your own garden!
  • Two Cinnamon sticks
  • Dried Orange slices
  • Star Anise
  • Cloves
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon powder

After this add water to your simmer pot. I also gave the pot a stir  it a clockwise direction, which helps to manifest or attract something in your life. I stirred with intention, simply asking for good energy to enter my home for the coming season.

I let it all come to the boil then reduced down to a simmer, and left it for a couple of hours. My home smelt absolutely divine. Even after I turned it off, the smell was still lingering hours later.

Give it a try! It's not too late and can be done at any time. If you do, be sure to tag me, as I'd love to see your Autumn Simmer Pot. The above ingredients are exhaustive and you can add or subtract anything  you like!

Sending Lunar Love,

Siaan x
